I completely agree 90% of PS2 games fail to check the 2nd slot and require the Memory Card to be in the first slot I thought  I had this happen once when I first got my PS3 Somehow the virtual memory card got corrupted and I lost all PS2 saves Once I fixed the problem  Well I saved my PS gray memory card and to access it's memory I have to have the card in slot 2 and the controller in slot 1 I was just playing
